Lenovo Announces New Multi-Mode Thinkpad Mobile Workstations: P40 Yoga and P50

The Thinkpad name has a reputation for business grade computing solutions. Tough build quality and solid tech guts. Lenovo took the wraps off of their newest mobile solutions at the Autodesk University Conference in Vegas, announcing a new Yoga and the Thinkpad P50.

There are a couple different lines of Yoga between tablets and consumer laptops, but the Thinkpad variant looks like it’ll be a flexible beast with Milspec build ruggedness for travelers and a locking keyboard for when the Yoga is in tablet mode.

This Yoga features a 2560×1440 resolution touch display with support for a Wacom stylus. Targeting creative professionals, the P40 can be outfitted with an NVIDIA Quadro M500M graphics card, an Intel Core i7, and up to 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Striking a nice balance between mobile workstation power and portability for on the go computing.

The new P50 aims to balance conventional Ultrabook design and portability with workstation performance. A 3K display is powered by up to a Core i7, an NVIDIA Quadro K620M graphics card, and up to 32GB of RAM.

This laptop also features Lenovo’s PowerBridge tech where users can hotswap batteries for less interruptions in run time. This dual battery system can provide up to 17 hours of run time.
