Samsung Teases Galaxy K / S5 Zoom on Instagram

Those cheeky little phone manufacturers.

Samsung will be unveiling SOMETHING with a ‘K’ at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore on April 29th. How better to tease the announcement? Why not show off a video of the Red Dot Museum, being zoomed in on by some kind of camera which can zoom in a lot? Perhaps some kind of Galaxy Zoom maybe? Possibly?

We’ll find out more tomorrow I suppose. In the meantime, we’ve seen a couple leaked photos of the S5 Zoom, showing a slimmer design than the S4 Zoom, and a new textured back plate which resembles the dimples on the Galaxy S5.

Samsung has been getting serious with their cameras lately, and they look like they’ll be trying to give Nokia a run for their money.

HTC One M8 Camera outclassed by Galaxy S5, and it has NOTHING to do with MegaPixels…

Let’s get this out of the way right now. The One M8 camera is good. Maybe it’s even “very good”, but over the last year we’ve seen some excellent cameras bolted onto the backs of our phones by companies like Sony and Nokia.

WP_20140421_21_19_32_ProThe M7 was my favorite camera on an Android phone of last year, and was only bested by the likes of Nokia. It lost the resolution battle with only a 4MP sensor, but the combo of larger “UltraPixels” and Optical Image Stabilization made it one of the best devices to shoot on in indoor and low light environments. Outdoor pics were very good, low light pics were gorgeous, and video was nicely smoothed out by the stabilizing hardware.

My expectations were tremendously high for the M8.

T-Mobile tries their hand at a Galaxy S5 Unboxing Video

galaxy s5 unboxing video t-mobileFirst Samsung delivers a full hands on video of the Galaxy S5, now T-Mobile is delivering my least favorite flavor of Geek Porn.

The Unboxing Video.

In true unboxing form, over a third of the video is just a pair of disembodied hands holding Samsung’s packaging. If you really needed to hear someone read the specs off the side of the box, and eventually hold the phone in their hands, while also showing you the cable and charger, then this is the video for you!

I have to admit a bit of disappointment though as you’d think that a company like T-Mobile would be able to produce a higher quality video, at least something better than 720p shot on a potato…

12.2″ Galaxy Note Pro Tablet now available on Verizon for $849

samsung galaxy note pro 12.2 verizon lte blackI’m honestly torn on this one folks. Tablets are maturing and becoming competent productivity tools, but the Galaxy Note Pro is cresting into proper computing territory. I know it lacks LTE, but for $50 more you can start shopping a Surface Pro. I’m honestly curious what my readers think? Is Android ready to be a “professional” computing solution? Drop me some comments below!

Anywho, this monster slate can now be had through Big Red for $849.99. If you’re signing up a new two year plan, you can save $100, which does take some of the sting off that sticker price, but it will add $10 a month to a MORE Everything data plan.

Full PR below.
