Qualcomm Toq in the SomeGadgetGuy Offices! First Impressions Video coming soon!

6tag_171213-113532 (1)I normally don’t pre-announce my videos and reviews, but I’m too excited not to share this one!

The Qualcomm Toq is on my wrist, and I’m super stoked to break it in and share my experiences using it. Part of why I’m excited is in watching a company like Qualcomm make such a direct move to interact with customers directly. Chances are your phone or tablet is using SOMETHING built by Qualcomm, but they don’t have a lot of consumer mind share.

Toq aims to change that.

My first impressions video will be posted tomorrow! Spoiler Alert: this thing is one sexy piece of smartwatch.

Review: ETON FRX3 Emergency Radio & Cell Phone Charger – Hand Crank & Solar Powered!

I was really happy to get my hands on this emergency radio from ETON, as I happen to live in an earthquake prone state, and it looked like a great addition to my emergency kit. There’s a PLETHORA of ways to power this little audio box: AAA batteries, a rechargeable battery pack, solar power, and a hand crank! Plus you can use it to recharge your phone!

Top 5 for the week starting Dec 1st, 2013 – LG G2 news, Batteries, and Cases!

The nice thing about how Apple updates the iPhone with a tick-tock system, cases for the iPhone 5 largely work with the iPhone 5S. If you’ve been looking for a rugged case for the 5S, this waterproof case might do the trick!

LG G2 Camera reviewI don’t do a lot of battery bench marking. It’s very time consuming, and usage is very relative. What’s heavy to one person is light use for another.  That said, when a phone comes along with exceptional battery life, I at least need to point out how it handled real world activities.

And the number one story from last week was a doozy! LG made some pretty bold claims surrounding the camera on the G2. It’s only the second Android with optical image stabilization, and it has three times the resolution as the HTC One. Did the G2 camera live up to the hype?

We’re nothing without you readers, and we certainly can’t compete against the big blogs by ourselves. We always greatly appreciate not only the likes, but the sharing on social sites like Google Plus, Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit. App Review: UTrailme – Live Video Streaming

014Today’s review is on the UTrailme app developed by Dream Team Mobile, which is a live streaming app for both Windows and IOS  phones. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter all allow you to share pictures at that moment. Vine let’s you record short video to share. What if you could share a live stream with all of your friends in real time? Utrailme is here to provide you with an app for live streaming of concerts, sporting events or you see something interesting happening that you want to share with your friends.

UTrailme has a pretty slick UI which is very easy to navigate. Setting up this app is quite easy so you can share your live streams directly and automatically post on Facebook, Twitter and VK.  You can select your video quality from the setting menu to stream your event in low, medium, high or auto-detect.  There are no light or dark themes, and you will not see any pop up ads. Camera Test: The LG G2 on AT&T – video samples from a 13MP Android with Optical Image Stabilization!

The G2 is one of the first Android phones to rock the Qualcomm 800 processor here in the states. It’s also only the second Android handset to sport a camera with proper hardware optical image stabilization and a higher resolution sensor than the HTC One. This should be a recipe for camera phone success.

LG made some pretty bold claims with their ads, so let’s see if the LG G2 lives up to the hype!
