The OnePlus 12 and 12R are IN the GadgetLab, but let’s talk about embargoes. I recently reviewed the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. Apple’s AirDrop is apparently not secure, and hasn’t been for years. Apple is also bullying devs and journalists to ONLY use certain words to describe their VR headset. Plus, all those fines Big Tech received last year? Those fines were paid off in DAYS.

What a crazy week! Meta might be breaking up Instagram and Messenger ahead of regulators pressuring them. Alibaba is scanning tiktokers to make new AI tools. Verizon bungled some basic security for user data. Alex Jones is back on Twitter. Some REALLY interesting games are coming soon! Sony might retire the XPERIA.

Last week was kind of a slow news week, but we’re making up for it now! Twitter continues to be a dumpster fire. Filmic dumps their staff. Playstation drops the license to content you paid for. Spotify made money this year, so they need to layoff staff too! Reddit is rolling out a pretty redesign. Samsung pays a LOT for Qualcomm’s chips.
