Happy Monday!

What a crazy weekend. We had a tropical storm and an earthquake!

Plus, Twitter continues to dumpster dive to lower and lower depths. Apple devices are easy to game with some basic Bluetooth hardware. Sandisk drives are failing. Courts rule AI art can’t be copyrighted.

And we have to chat about this new gaming handheld from Lenovo!

Let’s get our tech week started right!

#SGGQA 311 – Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 Reactions, MacBooks Aren’t Repairable, Disney Dumps Metaverse

Happy Monday!

Embargoes are dropping and I can finally chat about some of the tech on my desk! Like a new 3D printer from AnkerMake, and the mini-drone I’ve been flying!

Also, Disney dumps the metaverse. CNET dumps thousands of old articles. Apple dumps repairability on the MacBook. Firefox dumps the INABILITY to install browser extensions.

And we have to check out the Mix Fold 3 announcement from Xiaomi!

#SGGQA 310 – Qualcomm Takes a RISC, Fusion Power Breakthrough, YouTube Enhanced Playback, Trying to Figure Out LK-99

Happy Monday!

This might be the most science-y show I’ve ever tried to put together!

Qualcomm is partnering with firms to develop RISC competitors to ARM. YouTube is ENHANCING 1080p playback for Premium users. ISPs are likely grifting the FCC. Amazon and WalMart are still selling expired Chromebooks.

And what the heck is going on with LK-99? What’s a Superconductor? Augh! My Brain!

Let’s get our tech week started right!

#SGGQA 308 Special Edition: How I Became a Samsung HATER (and YOU can TOO!)

Happy Monday!

While traveling, I’ve pre-recorded this podcast in advance of this week’s Samsung Unpacked event. A bit serious and a bit tongue in cheek, here’s how I transitioned from die-hard Samsung Knight to insufferable hater.

I often pick on the most toxic members of a brand’s fandom, but I haven’t done a great job of explaining how I got here.

Let’s get our tech week started right!

#SGGQA 306: Threads Crazy Growth, Sarah Silverman Sues OpenAI, Evernote Layoffs, Google Tensor Going to TSMC, Sony AX7 Speakers

Happy Monday!

Threads is growing like crazy, but what concerns might we have for a new social media platform from Meta? Evernote is scaling way back on staff, and moving operations to Europe. Google is looking to ditch Samsung for a future Tensor chip. Scientists believe we might have found evidence of alien intelligence here on Earth. I spent some time reviewing the Sony AX7 Portable Speaker system.

And I want to spend a little time in the SomeGadgetGuy mailbag!

Happy Monday!

Valve is pushing back against AI trained on copyrighted materials. Dev’s say Apple’s Vision Pro is NOT going to be a good VR solution.  Oracle is running Database on ARM chips. Google breaks my heart again, I mean kills their AR glasses again. Twitter is facing another meltdown.

And we should chat about that sexy little ZenFone 10.

Let’s get our tech week started right!
