Don’t shoot 8K on your phone! 4K 120 is WAY better!

Shoot better video!

We can make video “higher quality” in a couple different ways. We can increase resolution or we can increase frame rate. More phones are coming out with ability to shoot 8K, but is that really making our mobile video better?

I think 4k 120 is better as an EXTREME video quality… Continue reading “Don’t shoot 8K on your phone! 4K 120 is WAY better!”

LumaFusion on Android! Why I’m Dropping PowerDirector…

LumaFusion is the real deal.

I’ve been cutting video on phones for years now. My favorite app on Android has been PowerDirector, but recent changes to PD’s subscription and account verification have soured that experience. This isn’t a weak sauce comparison where I just read a list of plugins and show the UI. I’m legit dropping PD from my app drawer.

This is an airing of grievances!

LumaFusion comes at the EXACT right time. I can no longer recommend PowerDirector or Kinemaster anymore…

Pixel 7 Pro vs XPERIA 1 IV: The most important phones of the year…

Not the “best” phones of the year. Certainly not the most popular phones of the year.

I believe Google and Sony have made the most distinctly different phones from each other, and these phones are the “bookends” of the Premium Android market.

I don’t know that two phones could be more different from each other, and that’s enough for me to shoot a showdown!

Is HBO Max Worth $14.99/Month? | SlickDeals

Is HBO Max Worth it?

HBO has always been the top name in premium television. But a lot has changed in the last 20 years. Now it is consumed as a subscription streaming service more than it is as a cable add-on. Now people have the opportunity to pick and choose streaming services, subscribe for a month or two at a time, cancel, and be more selective.

In this video, we take a look at HBO Max’s offerings, compare its service to competitors, and decide whether the average consumer should pay $14.99 per month to get the HBO Max content library without ads.

Do you have any tips for maximizing one month of HBO max service? Any watching schedules? Tell us in the comments!

Velotric Nomad 1 Fat Tire E-Bike: Is it a Good Road Bike? (Part 2)

Velotric Nomad 1 road test!

I’m getting up to speed on ebikes, but what’s the deal with these HUGE TIRES? The Nomad is a beefy fat tire bike with a POWERFUL motor. I’m test driving some Velotric ebikes, and I’m trying to lose some pandemic weight. After using their road bike (the Discover 1), I have a choice to make.

Would I keep the road bike, or would I use the fat tire bike? One seems better for traditional commuting, but the other seems more fun for off-roading.

Which bike would be the right fit for your needs? Which bike do you think would be more fun?

Let’s take this Nomad 1 for a spin! Continue reading “Velotric Nomad 1 Fat Tire E-Bike: Is it a Good Road Bike? (Part 2)”

UPerfect X14 Pro Wireless LapDock: Can we FINALLY cut the cable?

UPerfect X14 Pro review!

I’m a huge fan of lapdocks and portable displays. The X14 Pro is a great example of a portable battery powered display, and it adds one HIGHLY requested feature. Folks asking for wireless connectivity, we can now connect phones and computers to this dock WITHOUT a cable.

What does that really look like though? Is it as functional as we’ve been hoping? What about the battery life?

Let’s take a look! Continue reading “UPerfect X14 Pro Wireless LapDock: Can we FINALLY cut the cable?”
