And we need to chat about how pretty the LG Velvet is!

Let’s get our tech week started right!

Xperia 1ii Review: Not QUITE the Full Review…

It feels wrong calling a video like this a “review”, when I still haven’t gone hands on with a retail unit, but I figured we could share some thoughts!

The Xperia 1ii is a beast of a phone. Let’s dig in! Continue reading “Xperia 1ii Review: Not QUITE the Full Review…”

#SGGQA 157: Creator Chat – Adam Doud from ‘The Benefit of the Doud’ Podcast is Back!

Our second return appearance on this show!

My pal, podcaster extraordinaire, Adam Doud is back!

Adam is a passionate advocate for the art of podcasting, but from his first appearance on Creator Chat to now, he’s changed up his production.

Previously working under another company’s media umbrella, those older podcasts were discontinued. Adam had a lot to say about those podcasts getting closed out, and what it was like striking out on his own to start up his new show, The Benefit of the Doud podcast.

Apple Sued for Games with Loot Boxes in the App Store. Google should be next.

The human brain reacts to loot boxes in pretty much the same way as slot machine gambling. Apple is facing a class action lawsuit over apps targeting kids which feature gacha and random number mechanics. If the ESRB won’t change ratings based on monetization mechanics, how else can we change the game industry?

LG Stylo 6 Review: It doesn’t FEEL like a CHEAP phone!

I admit to being spoiled as a gadget reviewer. Even reviewing phones at the mid-range these days, we’re treated to POWERFUL pocket computers. We should try to stay as well versed at the entry level as we cover the mid-range and premium tiers.

What should we expect from a pocket computer when prices fall well below $200? The Stylo 6 has some surprisingly powerful features to offer. Continue reading “LG Stylo 6 Review: It doesn’t FEEL like a CHEAP phone!”

#SGGQA 155: Creator Chat – Enobong Etteh from BooredatWork RETURNS!

Our first return appearance on this show. My buddy Enobong Etteh from BooredatWork is dropping by to follow up on our previous conversation. Making changes to a channel can be stressful. BooredatWork pivoted on smartphone and gaming content, and E had a lot to share about how his audience reacted to that change in coverage.

E also had some feelings to share on the current political issues facing our country, on the protests, and how it’s affecting the tech community. We’re going to be discussing some raw topics, but Enobong’s style is always thoughtful and considered.
