OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Review: Putting AirPods Pro 2 on Notice…
OnePlus took the wraps off their new phone, and I have a series of videos out now to see how the OnePlus 11 is performing and competing.
OnePlus ALSO revealed their new true wireless OnePlus Buds Pro 2, and I can share some thoughts on using them WITH the OnePlus 11!
I don’t feel OnePlus really gets enough credit for making nice accessories.
Sure, the watch was a bit of a bust, but chargers, cases, and audio gear have generally been top tier. As an ecosystem of products, OnePlus punches higher than the coverage they usually receive.
Specifically audio gear, I’ve genuinely been pleased with OP earbuds going all the way back to their dual driver neckband.
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 carry on this tradition, with fantastic tech features, very good audio quality, and a terrific performance for the price. Continue reading “OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Review: Putting AirPods Pro 2 on Notice…”
SOUNDPEATS Opera 03 True Wireless Earbuds Review: Audiophile on a Budget?
Can we satisfy “audiophile” on a wallet friendly budget?
Soundpeats is a solid consumer earbud brand, and I’ve had positive experiences covering their products in the past.
Their new earbud is an interesting focus for the company. The Opera series of buds are wrapping up crowd funding campaigns, and there’s a LOT of talk about audio quality and hi-res fidelity. Previous “Pro” and premium earbuds from Soundpeats have retailed as high as $120, but their main focus is on a $40-$60 consumer range.
The Opera aims to bring a bit more of the premium polish to a slightly lower cost. Aiming for an $80 MSRP (currently on early bird for $49), the Opera 3 are an interesting experiment.
A part of my conclusion at the top of this article:
We should be really excited to see how previously ‘exotic’ audio tech is now becoming more mainstream and affordable. Continue reading “SOUNDPEATS Opera 03 True Wireless Earbuds Review: Audiophile on a Budget?”
NuraTrue Pro True Wireless Earbuds: I said “Wow” out loud…
Following another RAGING ear infection, I’m finally back and healthy. Time to shove MORE EARBUDS IN MY EARS!
And I finally get to revisit a surprising premium True Wireless bud. My friend Jeff at ElJefeReviews sent the NuraTrue Pro my way, and this elicited a really surprising reaction from me on first listen.
You can LITERALLY see that reaction in my podcast, where I set them up live.
Then my ear infection flared, and I spent two months keeping IEMs and tips out of my ears.
Finally getting that inflammation to calm down, I was really excited to take the NuraTrue for a spin again. They do not disappoint. Continue reading “NuraTrue Pro True Wireless Earbuds: I said “Wow” out loud…”
JBL Quantum TWS: The BEST Wireless Earbuds for the Steam Deck!
This is a great option I hope becomes a more popular trend…
MediaTek sent me the JBL Quantum True Wireless earbuds to take on a test drive, and I’m really glad they did.
We’re trying to do a lot with Bluetooth these days, and sometimes we’re forcing Bluetooth into situations it wasn’t really designed for. We’ve gotten pretty good at augmenting Bluetooth for better quality and latency, but at the end of the day, it’s still Bluetooth.
There’s a frustrating aspect to our current earbud market, where host devices and earbuds have to match to get all the benefits of a new audio codec. We have several flavors of audio signal now. If your phone, tablet, console, or PC don’t speak the same codec “language” as your headphones, then you don’t get all the fancy new features.
There is a way around that, and gamers have been using it for YEARS on wireless gaming headsets. Continue reading “JBL Quantum TWS: The BEST Wireless Earbuds for the Steam Deck!”
