People keep saying Virtual Reality WILL be the next big thing, but there still aren’t very many ways for consumers to try out VR without investing a ton of cash. LG sent over their headset, which uses the G3 as the display, for us to test out some VR apps and the Google Cardboard ecosystem!

Last year LG delivered a phone well ahead of the curve in the G2. This year they’re continuing to push the envelope with the G3. On paper, it should be an absolute monster with a QHD screen, incredible battery life, and a new laser focusing system for the camera.

Looks like rumors surrounding a possible Nexus 8 tablet from LG were only MOSTLY false…
Google Play Edition phones are popular Android handsets running stock Android. We’ve seen Samsung and HTC strip out all of their custom software on the Galaxy S4 and One phones. LG will be offering up the first GPE tablet with the GPad 8.3. The specs make it a solid competitor for the Nexus 7: a 1080p screen powered by a Qualcomm 600 series chipset and 16GB of storage. Now you can choose between a GPad with LG’s custom software enhancements, or go with a clean, pure stock tablet.
GPad 8.3 GPE will start at $349, which on top of a Nexus 7 price, also nets you a MicroSD card slot and an IR blaster.

Only my second LG review!
The G2 is a MONSTER phone on paper. Incredible screen, huge battery capacity, big camera specs, and a brilliant tablet-grade processor. Having used the phone out in the wild for a couple weeks now, does real world performance live up to the specs on paper? Does this phone live up to LG’s promises?

2 – Real World Battery Test: The LG G2 – 47 hours to “Critically Low”
I don’t do a lot of battery bench marking. It’s very time consuming, and usage is very relative. What’s heavy to one person is light use for another. That said, when a phone comes along with exceptional battery life, I at least need to point out how it handled real world activities.
1 – Camera Test: The LG G2 on AT&T – video samples from a 13MP Android with Optical Image Stabilization!
And the number one story from last week was a doozy! LG made some pretty bold claims surrounding the camera on the G2. It’s only the second Android with optical image stabilization, and it has three times the resolution as the HTC One. Did the G2 camera live up to the hype?
We’re nothing without you readers, and we certainly can’t compete against the big blogs by ourselves. We always greatly appreciate not only the likes, but the sharing on social sites like Google Plus, Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit. Smaller tablets are hot right now. LG is making a move on the smaller than 10″ tablet segment with the new G Pad 8.3. Teased before this year’s IFA, the G Pad is continuing in the footsteps of the G2 launch. LG is looking to shake up their design language, and they’re turning to their users to help influence the future of LG products.
The G Pad 8.3 will be one of the slimmest and lightest small tablets to enter this arena. Noting that ten inch screens are often left at home, LG is banking on a more portable design. The specs are mid-high end for this segment as well. An 8.3″ 1080p display will be powered by a Qualcomm 600 series quad-core and 2GB of RAM. 16GB of storage on board can be upgraded via MicroSD cards. Ultra-slim bezels should help one-handed operation, and a decently sized battery should afford all day run time.
All in all a nice little competitor to the current popular iPad Minis and Kindle Fires. G Pad 8.3 drops on October 13 in South Korea for 550,000 won (about $514 US dollars), and LG will push it out to 30 more countries by end of year. After spending a couple months with the Optimus G Pro, LG is starting to find their feet with larger screens.
