Gear Review: IntoCircuit 13,000 mAh Power Castle Portable Battery

Back in October 2014 I reviewed the IntoCircuit 11200 mAh Power Bank. Today we are looking at IntoCircuit’s 13000 mAh Power Bank.

Not much has changed aesthetically for the IntoCircuit power bank. The body of the battery has a nice brushed aluminum finish which measures 5.1″ X 0.9″ X 3.1″.

It might be a little too bulky to keep in your pocket, however it will fit nicely in your backpack, messenger bag, or purse. At the end of the power bank you will find a durable rubber face with a 1 Amp USB charging port, a 2.1 Amp USB charging port, and the MicroUSB port to recharge the power bank. Instead of a “four dot” capacity readout, you get a nice LED status bar showing your power bank’s charge percentage!

Also on board is an LED flashlight that does a pretty good job lighting up the night. The Intocircuit 13000mAh power bank comes with a nice velvet bag to keep the aluminum finish from getting scratched.

Adventure Gear Review: OxyLED Motion Sensing Headlamp

OxyLED makes some budget friendly lighting options and today we are taking a look at the OxyLED motion sensing headlamp.

WP_20150303_09_13_51_Pro

The OxyLED Motion Sensing Headlamp uses a bright 200 lumen Cree XP-E white LED bulb which will last 50,000 hours and is powered by 3 AAA batteries which will power the light for 6 hours. This light will shine about 328 feet (100 Meters) in front of you. Your path will definitely be lit up at night. The light has 6 adjustable angles to suit your needs. The housing has 2 buttons. One button is to turn on the motion sensing option which when engaged, all you need to do is wave your hand in front of the light to turn it on and off. I use this option when riding my bike at night. I wave my hand in front of the light to turn it off  in order not to distract any drivers while I am at a stop light.  The button on top of the housing will give you three lighting options: high beam, low beam and strobe.

App Review: Blue Skies Weather App for Windows Phone 8.1

There are a number of weather apps available in the windows store to choose from. I like to try different apps to bring you the best of what is available and I came across this sweet weather app from Blue Skies.

Blue Skies is designed and developed by Rohit Rajendran who did an amazing job. He literally thought of everything you need from a weather app.

Blue Skies has a well designed UI that is very easy on the eyes, and is simple to navigate. There are light and dark themes to suit your needs. On the first screen you will see basic information about weather in your city. If you tap on the circle it will give you wind and chance of rain. Near the bottom of the screen it will tell you how far the nearest storm is from you.

Heading over to the next screen on Blue Skies you will see your high and low for the day, humidity, precipitation, sunrise and sunset. The boxes at the bottom of the screen will show your weather throughout the different times of the day. Just scroll through the boxes to see if you will need sunglasses, your umbrella or snow shoes! A new year means new gadgets! Keep those new shiny gadgets charged on the go with iClever’s car charger. As you know by now, we don’t do un boxings. So let’s get right into it!

Right out of the box, you will notice the iClever car charger is very light and is very compact with a nice modern design to it. It measures 1.34″ x 1.34″ x 3.25 which is perfect for storing it in your backpack, purse or pocket. There is a warranty card so make sure you fill it out and send it to the manufacturer just in case something does happen to the charger. A instruction manual is included with the charger for those who may be “tech challenged”. The iClever car charger does not come with a USB cable however I am sure you have an extra USB cable laying around or you could pick one up.

The iClever has not one charging USB port, but two! You should have no problem charging two devices at the same time while you are on your travels. One USB port is a 1A and the other USB is 2A, the latter capable of charging tablets. There is an LED light under the USB ports that let you know your devices are firmly connected and charging. I was able to charge my Lumia and IntoCircuit PC11200 Power Bank with no issues whatsoever.

If you are looking for a well built, inexpensive car charger that performs exceptionally well, I highly suggest picking up iClever’s Car Charger!

Windows Phone Game Review: Square Me

Square ME squareI have come across quite a few interesting games in the Windows Phone Store and today we are taking a look at one of the simplest yet fun games out there.

Square Me is a bare bones game which has no options nor does it have any setting to adjust game play. Square Me has one objective which is to find the tile that does not match and tap it so you can advance to the next level.

wp_ss_20141012_0001wp_ss_20141012_0004wp_ss_20141012_0006wp_ss_20141012_0010

At the beginning of the game you start out at Level 1 which has four big tiles but as you advance the tiles become smaller and the color change of the mismatched tile become ever so slight. Believe me it can be a challenge as you advance in levels. Of course you also have a timer that counts down while hunting the mismatched color tile, adding to the tension. Good luck! Gear Review: IntoCircuit PC11200 Power Bank

WP_20141007_015Today we are taking a look at IntoCircuit’s 11200 mAh portable power bank! As you may or may not know, we here at Some Gadget Guy are not into unboxings, however I really do like the packaging and colors that this battery is packed in. With that being said, let’s jump right into the review!

WP_20141007_013                                 WP_20141011_004

Upon opening the box and pulling out the power bank, you will immediately notice that this power bank has a hefty feel (278G), and it has a very nice brushed aluminum case. The design is simple yet rugged looking and measures 4.3” X 2.8” X 0.9” . There is a nice bright LCD screen that will light up for 30 seconds so you can see the progress of your devices being charged. The display will also show you which port is being used. The IntoCircut PC11200 has one button to turn the power bank on and off. When you double press the button, you will activate the flashlight. Yes, the IntoCircuit PC11200 has a bright flashlight which would come in very handy for multiple situations. I really like the flashlight option on this power bank because you never know when you will need a flashlight in case something goes awry. (power outages, zombie apocalypse  or when you go camping.)
