Android 12 Broke ALL My Benchmarks: Scoped Storage Rant

This is a little ugly. For those who want a TLDR, the video above should help explain.

I’m trying to run some newer phones through my slate of tests to grade performance. The results don’t compare favorably to similar tier phones I’ve tested in the past.

Everything has gotten more complicated to test AND scores are lower. I think I’ve found the main culprit.

Apple is updating AirTags over fears of tracking and theft. NVIDIA’s deal to acquire ARM is collapsing. Best Buy is forcing a club subscription to buy a GPU. Android 13 looks to be able to run virtualized OS (we can run Windows 11 from a phone). Valve is showing off the SteamDeck’s curves in CAD files.

And we have to chat about what a good year this will be for Note fans!
