XReal Beam: AR for ALL of us!

XReal Beam first look!

XReal is sponsoring this video to clear the air on augmented reality and phone compatibility. Folks don’t understand that iPhones and Pixels don’t support AR glasses. To make up for those issues from Apple and Google, XReal made the BEAM! This little “brain” powers the AR and 3D head tracking capabilities of the glasses for ANY computer or phone you connect it with.

Let’s do this right!

***UPDATE***

To address a completely fair concern of my video here, my section on compatibility IS really clumsy.

I was trying to illustrate that MOST of the issues people have encountered have been because of phone manufacturer decisions, and the two biggest offenders in my opinion have been Apple and Google. Beam address similar issues for nearly every other product, but my example of Pixel phones is confusing here. Google is now the main “problem” manufacturer, where there is no support for cabled or wireless mirroring on a product like Beam. Google uses a proprietary casting system designed for Chromecast, and does not include Miracast support on Pixels.

I absolutely did NOT make this as clear as I should have in this video, and with any product I showcase, I HIGHLY recommend digging into more info from the manufactures, which is why I include links to their websites.

Specifically for the BEAM, XREAL has a great FAQ clearly detailing the compatibility and limitations of using BEAM with multiple different devices. https://www.xreal.com/support/beam

I appreciate the feedback on this video, and will try to include that kind of detail in future videos. 👍

I totally goofed on the section talking about price! The Beam will sell for $119, and the combo of Beam + Air will sell for $488! Hit the link for more info!
